2020 school year- art newsletter

As a new art teacher at a new school, I have the responsibility of creating new norms when it comes to communicating with parents and building a sense of community as an art teacher. Since the specialist teachers don't have regular contact with parents as much as the homeroom teachers do, I thought this would be a great way to bridge that gap and open communication between the art teacher and parents.

This will be posted on SeeSaw, I like using SeeSaw because it is really easy to communicate with parents and students. The first art newsletter consists of things to bring to school during the first week of classes. These will be delivered to the parents through SeeSaw 3 weeks prior to the beginning of the school year. There will be a reminder message sent a week prior as well. I believe it's equally important to build a strong relationship between specialist teachers and parents. I would forward this to the homeroom teachers so that the parents don't get bombarded with 5 messages on SeeSaw and get all the information from one source. Any further questions can be answered by me through SeeSaw.
